Jason was the only son and last child out of five kids, four are all girls. The kind of life he had from birth amounted and directed him to his bad ways. His parents had waited for ten good years to have a son. When he was finally born, all the love, money, attention and alongside goodies were given to him without complains, neglecting the fact that it could all amount to negative or side effect which come along with it. Not only his nuclear family but all family friends both close and not close, relatives, uncle and aunties, all showered him with love and gifts too. It seemed as if he was the only one on earth. Jason went to the best of schools, had rich and famous friends. He never stayed in the hostel. He was driven to school by his own personal driver in expensive cars. He was treated like a prince, his room decorated with the most expensive wall design one could imagine, just out of this world. As a teenager, he was already noticed as one of the most richest and popular young guy in school. The good thing here is that he was very intelligent and hardworking especially when it comes to school work. Somehow God blessed him with brains to build his knowledge very well and sound. No one believed that he was very intelligent and got awards in being an outstanding student all his days at school. He never looked serious at class, he makes noise and was so stubborn when it comes to a lot of things.
At senior class in high school, he had a group, which he called “THE RICH BOYS GROUP”. They were 12 in number, all rich and their family were the la creme la Creme in the society. They never allowed the low level people to join them. Even if the low level people try to join the group, they were screened and given rigorous tasks to accomplish before having ro join the group which was alsomt impossible to do. This group had a bad reputation which includes gang rape, stealing, destroying people’s reputation including their family. They never cared. They smoked, sold drugs, held expensive parties in expensive places, clubbing was their main course. They grew to a bad level of carrying guns to shoot people who never saw them as important people. Jason changed and changed school three times, not because of his academics but for bad conducts. His family prayed and took him to different churches, mosques, herbalist all for deliverance, everyone in his surroundings hoped, prayed and believed that someday he will change, yet no change. At his SS2 in high school, about to enter his final class, he was caught selling drugs and was sent to jail for six months because he was a teenager. His parents tried to bring him out but to no avail. When he finally came out, one would think that he would change for good, but Jason had is own plan. His school took him back but he had to repeat his previous class before entering the final class. Thank God, he did well and entered his next class. He did all the exams he needed to do to enter into higher institution. He got admission and went to the university to read engineering. At this point, Jason was a sweet boy. He waited until year two and went back to his evil ways.
THE RICH BOYS GROUP came back with full force and power. They were known round the whole school, people feared them, people never came close to them. They were more than twelve in number. They drove the expensive cars, wore expensive clothes and everything else to show people who they are. Their activities became brutal and people’s lives were in danger. They had rules and regulations. Jason was the leader and was feared more. His parents, family and friends talked to him and advised him, he was not moved at all. To him, he was having fun, enjoying, living his life to the fullest and all, not knowing that a day will come when things won’t be the same. One day, at class, a lecturer insulted him for walking into the class without no form of respect. His lecture gave him so much hurtful and painful insults that he could not take it anymore. Jason left the class, the students laughed at him and insulted him. Jason was very angry and was ready to kill if possible. Later that evening, Jason called his groups to plan a way to kill the lecturer. All of them agreed to execute the plan and make sure they leave no traces. Two days after, Jason and his group of boys executed the plan. Jason walked into the lecturer’s office and shot him. They burnt his car and also went the his house and raped the wife and daughters of the lecturer and shot one leg of his only son. The group were happy, they celebrated and clubbed as much as they could.
A mistake was made and this made the police to catch the group. Six months after the plan was executed, thinking no one will catch them, the police came to school to arrest Jason and six other members of the group. Out of the remaining ones that the police could not catch, some were shot and died immediately and some managed to run away without no problem. The evidence the police found was the picture of Jason. As Jason was leaving the house of the lecturer, his school ID card fell off his pocket unknown to him. The ID card was found under the chair in the sitting room. Jason did not wear a mask to cover his face, so when one of the daughters of the lecturer found it while sweeping the house, she immediately recognized the face and went to the police. The group confessed to their sins and were charged to death by hanging. Jason’s parents tried to bring him out with all the connections they had but it did not succeed.
Jason was in his third year reading engineering when this occurred. 20th May, 2019, Jason and his group members were hanged to death.
LESSON: All that glitters is not gold. Don’t spoil your children or yourself too much. Let there be caution. Be careful what you do. Watch how you live. Listen to the words of your elders. Live life but live it the right way.
