Words From Nancy

THE MOMENTS

Hi guys, what’s up? How was your valentine’s day? I should’ve written this two weeks ago, so apologies to you dear wonderful readers. Forgive me! I don’t know why it took me so long to write but here is it. Remember I told you all in my last blog post that we all should enjoy ourselves no matter the situation because it is Valentine’s Day? So I practiced what preached. I went out with my beautiful sister, Mary and we had loads of fun!It was super amazing and so beautiful. Where did we goMy church, RCCG MERCY SEAT CHAPEL (MSC), Maryland USA hosted everyone to its special Valentine’s day Love FESTWe had so much fun and it was worth every second.

Every year on Valentine’s Day my Church MSC organizes a Love FEST program, and this year it was tagged The Rekindle Edition with a PROM theme. It was a day to come and enjoy oneself and experience again the true meaning of love. I know it was a church event but hold up, we took it to another level! Thanks to our lovely organizers, the church was transformed to in a love atmosphere – the backdrop designs, art and decor, the red scintillating lighting, cocktail tables and everything was just amazing. Firstly, as guests arrived, ladies dressed in lovely dinner gowns, hair on fleekand heels on the go; then the men in dark suits, bow ties, long ties and cravat hmm-mm, it was really top notch. This event was the second edition and it was really taken up a notch to another levelAnd people really honored the invitation and came. I just love how everything went. Of course, we kicked off with prayer by one of the Ministers, very simple, sweet, and short. We had three MCs, all lovely and entertaining tooWhen it was speech time, one of the couples were asked to tell about how they met and how he knew his wife was the one for him. Can you imagine, we realized that this couple met as children, as in the lady was in primary (middle) school and the guy was in junior high school. They had been together for that long and are married now with three awesome kids. What???? I have not seen this type o! This love is real o! Primary school love. It was an amazing and wonderful story. I was wowed.

Then we had the couples game. Three couples came out to dance with an inflated balloon placed between them. The task was to dance in such a way to prevent the balloon from falling, and to not touch it with their hands. It was both funny and tasking because if the balloon drops on the floor, the couple is out of the game. We had two rounds and had a winner in the first round but in the second round, two of the final couples danced and danced and danced and had to be announced joint winners.Apparently they had figured out a system– Haha! Later, we went into questions and answers, where two singles – a gentleman and lady – had the opportunity to ask questions about marriage and the married audience proposed answers to it from various helpful perspectives. One question that I would always remember was if love is not enough to sustain a marriage forever, then what other thing is needed? Folks gave their own opinion and we learned that love is not the only thing needed in a marriage. We need respect, patience, honesty, happiness, understandingand more, and above all, God to sustain the marriage. Other questions were asked and answered too.

Item 7 – food food food, there was a lot to eat and drink! The food was on point. I had fun ooo! When it comes hosting events in my church, we don’t dull, no way. We are always in front, we can’t carry last. We also celebrated two lovely, beautiful ladies birthdays, both born on February 14thThey were both present for the event, looking gorgeous. We sang birthday songs and took pictures against the glamorous backdrop. We took a lot of pictures. We also crowned PROM king and queen. The DJ gave us best of music – both old school love and trendy new ones- gospel and contemporary too with loads of dancing to wrap up at the end. It was really a lovely night, thanks to all the people involved, our wonderful Pillars of Mercy ministry organizers. I had so much fun. If you missed, I am so sorry but please do not miss next year. Thanks to our awesome Pastors for hosting us, God bless you! Thanks also to everyone that came. See you all next year and stay loved up!
