A 22-year-old student of the University of Benin (UNIBEN), Nigeria, has died after being raped in a church auditorium.
According to media reports in Nigeria, the deceased, Uwa Omozuwa, on Wednesday May 27, 2020, visited the Redeemed Christina Church of God, Edo Province 10, Ikpoba Hill, Benin to read.
Whilst in the church, when some men reportedly attacked her, raped her, hit her head with a fire extinguisher cylinder and left her for dead.
A security personnel at the church later found Uwa Omozuwa in a pool of blood.
She was then rushed to the University of Benin Teaching Hospital for treatment.
However, on Saturday, May 30, 2020, Uwa Omozuwa died from the injuries she sustained.
Following this incident, some have taken to social media, demanding justice for the deceased.
The probable consequence of studying alone in church should not be Rape and/or Murder.

Governor of the Edo State, Godwin Obaseki has ordered the police to launch full investigation into the matter and bring the perpetrators of the act to book.
