STUDENT’S TALK- DAVID OKPOSO

Hello everyone, my lovely readers, this week on STUDENT’S TALK, we have a student all the way from Nigeria to talk to us deeply about how he feels concerning covid-19 suitation and what could be done quickly to help students resume school soon. So shall we all talk with DAVID OKPOSO…..

1. HI DAVID, can you please tell us more about yourself?

ANS: Hello, I’m David Okposo, 23yrs of age, from a family of six, a native of ndukwa north in Delta State, apart from schooling, I work part-time at the star modeling agency as the model manager and scout, an extrovert in nature, my hobbies are surfing the internet, listening to music and traveling.

2. What school do you attend and the level you are and course of study?

ANS: I Attend Yaba college of technology (YCT), popularly known as Yaba tech. I’m currently in HND 1 and my course of study is microbiology.

3. Now school, has been shut down due to covid-19, how has it affected you personally?

ANS: Ever since the lockdown, it’s really been hard as a student to cope with my education, reading has not be a thing of interest, but I just have to try to sustain all I have learnt before the lockdown.

4. Government seems to say that school won’t be opened until maybe next year, how do you feel about that?

ANS: Sincerely, a terrible feeling knowing the fact about the educational scheme will be in total jeopardy, but recently they came up with online teaching which is not helping, barely are the lecturers  able to connect with you with professional Apps or even WhatsApp and this is really sad 😢 I just pray this will be over soon

5. You being at home all these months, is there any new thing you have learnt or examine about yourself?

ANS: During this whole pandemic era, I was entrusted with my parents project in my house to build a decking for the borehole, the process made me realize how to manage little resources and bring out a positive outcome, able to manage human character towards achieving a goal and also learnt to cook continental cuisine right from my kitchen 😂

6. Missing school now, what will be some of the setbacks you may face if school is to be opened today?

ANS: Being able to adapt back to the time schedule, the pandemic made  me  change my sleeping pattern by sleeping really late and waking up before noon and also take a nap by afternoon, if school is to resume I might be dozing off during lectures, studying will be a total ball game for me.

7. If you were given a chance to say something to the president, what will that be?

ANS: I have also dreamt and daydream if that day, able to pour my heart to him how the masses are feeling not have a better life, turning youths life to harden criminal because of lack of employment making the nation and the citizen a mockery, embezzlement with no Shame and concern if a citizen is at a point of death and i will beg him to make things right if he has to sacrifice his life, he should do it.

8. If covid-19 is to end now and school reopens, what will you like to do?

ANS: I miss going out with my friends, I will just have to go back to my precious life, school life is fun, seeing students entering and leaving the lecture rooms make me believe that there is hope of a bright future someday… I will love to go to my favourite ice cream spot in Surulere Lagos Nigeria, hanging out with friends is blossoming😜😜

9. Some students are not active anymore with the covid-19 situation, its really hard, what will be your advise to them?

ANS: My advise to my fellow other students who are not active due to certain reasons or the other is to find an inner connection with themselves, knowing that after this pandemic things will be of rush like in a 100, everyone will be on the go to achieve totally what as been spent off, so also, you should find an inner peace with yourself and pray to God. Nothing will be impossible. Thank you.

Thanks so much David for doing this interview. I feel the pain the students are going through right now. Its hard but it will pass.

Alright guys, this is what we have for you on STUDENT’S TALK this week, please remember to join me again next week to talk with another student. Thanks and God bless you, bye…….
