WELCOME , WELCOME EVERYONE to another time of interviewing a student on STUDENT’S TALK. This week, we are going to be talking with a student. She will be telling us about her feelings about how the COVID 19 has affected her in all ways. I present to you all, PRECIOUS TOYO.
1. HI PRECIOUS, can you please tell us more about yourself
ANS: My name is Precious Toyo. I’m a Congolese/Nigerian citizen, I’m 20 years old, I love learning new positive ideas, also love helping people and I’m an optimistic. Okay…. I wish to share a piece of my life journey with everyone, I lived with my grandparents for about 19years of my life, bullied psychologically and body shamed a thousand times. My grandmother especially disliked the western tradition except for the western education, and by the time I was 15 years old, I strongly wanted to go into modeling, I loved it and also taught it was going to help me build my self-confidence but my grandma was particularly being pessimistic about the whole idea, saying “it’s not going to help you focus on your studies”, I always wished I fought it, but in the end, I realized and learnt that living in regrets is equal to living in the past and is never the best way to move forward, because life has so many possibilities/opportunities to offer and it’s just the beginning.
2. What school do you attend and the level you are and course of study?
ANS: I’m a final year student of Lagos state university, I’m studying Theater Arts
3. Now school, has been shut down due to covid-19, how has it affected you personally?
ANS: Ermmm the pandemic…. I already had my life planned, I was thinking I’d be graduating by the end of this year and would immediately travel overseas to further my modeling and life career but sometimes things don’t go as planned.
4. Government seems to say that school wont be opened until maybe next year, how do you feel about that?
ANS: I feel terribly bad about that but I believe that everything is going to turn out good in the end
5. You being at home all these months, is there any new thing you have learnt or examine about yourself?
ANS: Yes, being at home has really improved my self meditating and developmental skills.
6. Missing school now, what will be some of the setbacks you may face if school is to be opened today?
ANS: I won’t be having any
7. If you were given a chance to say something to the president, what will that be?
ANS: I would tell him to RESIGN
8. If covid-19 is to end now and school reopens, what will you like to do?
ANS: Finish up my school and start up a new life, there’s a whole lot more out there to discover
