Can it be simple enough to forgive someone who has offended you so greatly? Some have said it’s difficult, some say it’s very hard and can’t be done at all. The wrong that was done to someone can’t just be forgotten. Indeed it is hard to let go of alot of things. The heart is wounded, deeply hurt. The reminder of what happened keeps playing back in one’s head over and over again. It’s not easy to erase from one’s mind. However
FORGIVE. That is the word we all hear. What is forgiveness? It’s the act of letting go of the wrong that has been done to you. Forgiveness may also come with forgetting what he or she did. Most of us can’t just forgive and forget forever. We keep a lot of the hurt in our heart. Some hurts are really meant to be easily forgotten but we sometimes choose to bury it in our hearts for as long as we can. It will take people around to intercede for us to forgive and totally forget. The spirit of forgiveness needs to live in us. It is the way the Lord expects us to live. It may not be easy, as some sins done to us are so painful and difficult to forget. It makes us angry; makes us weak; and makes us to do things that we might regret at the end of the day. If we don’t forgive and forget, we may never make heaven, it may not allow us to access the divine blessings which God has designed for us.
Forgiveness is key. It will ease the pain in our hearts, it will take away our sorrows and make us to see the light in the midst of darkness. The Bible says that if we forgive others their trespasses, the Lord will forgive us our trespasses. To forgive could be hard, but when the Holy Spirit dwells in us, it will become easy. Sometimes, what has been done to us could be way of testing and building our faith as Christians. Life isn’t easy at all, let us not hold on to our anger. We need to let it go. Unforgiveness leads to malice which may last for a long time and may lead to something bad. Let us have the heart to forgive and forget. It is the way to live. God will help us all. Amen
