Today, I want to talk about my new friends who I met on clubhouse. Clubhouse is a social media platform that connects people round the world. I joined this group in January 2021. My sister, Mary Anyakwo nominated me. This group has allowed me meet a lot of people from the USA, Australia, Russia, Nigeria, the UK, Ireland, and many other interesting places. In life, you can’t tell who will come your way; some are good, and some are bad. I have experienced good, ugly, and bad experiences. Sometimes I enter a room and I don’t try to socialize because I don’t know who they are. Yes, you may wonder why I feel that way, but I am different. I need to be confident and bold and be able to speak up, I know. I have people who showed me the meaning of friendship and family. I will be talking about them today. If I don’t get to finish, I will continue next week.
Where do I start? The very first room I joined was SS and EN, sugar, spicy and everything nice, I just stumbled into this room. They were talking about different things, it was so funny, and they were really having fun, catching their cruise, teasing each other. I refused to come up to talk but it was LESTHER and FRANKLY UCHE who continued to bring me up to speak. I refused two, or three times, then finally, I came up to speak. It was interesting talking with them and laughing. I enjoyed every bit of it. I was welcome into their midst and I still don’t regret meeting them. There were challenges with my voice but they got to understand me. Then I got to meet a lot of others.
Lesther is an amazing personality. He is full of spirit and full of life. He makes the group lively and brings people together. I like him – very straight forward and quite honest too. I see him as a go-getter. Frankly was the very first person I spoke to on Clubhouse. He was encouraging and has been a good friend; and ladies, he is handsome (wink). Isioma is a pretty lady with some swag, very understanding, calm and intelligent. I was drawn to her – the way she talked, a bold, beautiful, and a happy person who is always smiling. She is a sister and friend. Fola, my girl, I admire her a lot. She considers me her friend and I can talk to her about anything that is bothering me. She is such an amazing girl; she has a lot of great value in her. She is beautiful and has a great future ahead of her. Edy; someone is always shooting his shot in the room and I thought he won’t give me any audience at all. To my surprise, he became a great friend and is fun to talk to. He provided the audience to express myself to him, he is smart, intelligent, and good looking too. He is extremely funny and the way he talks to ladies in the group is just priceless. He is also quite confident too with the way he adds his Igbo tongue on top of it, he is just lovely to be with and I am happy to meet him. Barry, he is very sweet and extra funny too. He is brilliant and I like the fact that he is confident too. He became my friend when we were playing a game and I was talking but people were not able to understand me. He did and helped tell them what I was saying, and I was touched. Since then, I gave Barry this high level of respect; like if you do any harm to him, forget it, I will come after you ooo(laughing). So, about Ope, he is very bold and nice too, at first, I didn’t like him because he was always rejecting my offer to be friends, he was just naughty, and I was like “what’s wrong with this dude? I will beat you o!” I really wanted to get back at him, but I just let it go. With time, Ope became my good friend and I am happy we have a relationship as friends.
Yvonne, my baby girl, I love her with all my heart. I got to know her in the room with time. Every time we were doing shoot your shot, every guy was going for her. It just became a competition for her. She is beautiful (please come and marry my brother ooo). She is a sweet, caring, understanding girl, funny, easy to talk to and we rapport very well. Yvonne, you are my girl for life! Lolah, the very first time she entered the room, she was just all over the place; she kept on talking and talking, she expresses herself without hiding or minding what people would say. She is just herself, very confident and beautiful. She is loud but I’d say that I like her for always bringing her A-game. She is also very friendly and outspoken. Tsolaye, he is another great guy in the room and he doesn’t talk. I feel he only talks when expected for him to talk and when he talks, you will be like “is that Tsolaye”? Because he is that gentleman kind of guy that all ladies will fall in love with. He is a calm lovely and awesome guy and I am happy to know him. Leonard, the very first time I knew him was when he was asked to ask a girl out and he was just laughing and everyone was asking him what was wrong with that, that it was just a game and he said he didn’t know how to do that because he had a girlfriend. I remember some ladies feeling disappointed hearing that like I was too. In a way he is like Tsolaye; calm, gentle, a lovely kind of person, he is my friend, we talk and he also someone who pays attention to what people say then he will react and he is also funny too. Melvin is a kind of guy who has this sweet mouth, I hope he won’t attack me ooo, he is very handsome, and fair in complexion which got my attention. He is outspoken too; he relates with everyone in the room. He is mature. I became friends with him when we were playing a game. He and Tsolaye were asked to act the scenario and I was to pick the one I would date and picked Tsolaye but Melvin just became friends with me, and he would always greet me every single time I entered the room; he is a cool guy.
Morayo is another sweet girl who I like a lot. She is beautiful, intelligent, could be quiet, sometimes. She enters the room and won’t talk until her name is mentioned. A lot of guys are falling for her, (don’t give them face ooo), she got my attention with her voice, very tiny and soft and her beauty too, she is my friend for life. Ofunneka, she got my attention because two of my aunties bear her name. She is very beautiful, she has a great personality, she is loved by everyone. I remember when she was moderating a game in the room and she kept on asking me to talk, I was like she should leave alone, I am not going to talk but she made me talk and I have been friends with her ever since. I have another wonderful, beautiful friend again, she is Chichi, very lovely, her voice is soft and gentle, she doesn’t stress herself at all. I like her, I became friends with her in the room when it was just six girls and she was moderating the room and she kept calling my name. She just wanted me to talk, she is friendly and nice, and I really admire her. Ediri is a very sweet girl too. I got to know her and become friends with her when she was talking with a guy about attending Bowen University, Iwo, Osun State, Nigeria, and I was like “that is my school”, so we talked and became friends. She is a sweetheart. I know guys are on her matter too.
Dawson. Now this guy just entered the room one time like that with this deep voice as if he had come to toast all the babes. He was just on Yvonne and Fola’s matter. Everyone told him to keep quiet but no, he continued talking. He is bold, handsome, and very outspoken, he could be funny at times. I think he is a cool guy. Annie, she is another amazing pretty lady in the room. She is funny, lively, outspoken and I admire her. I got to know her when a guy was asking her out and he was just hilarious, I kept on laughing and laughing. I had to check her profile and I saw a damsel. There are some people I haven’t spoken about, but you all know I love you with all my heart.
SS and EN, this is my first family on Clubhouse, I love each one of them. The love for them grew when they all stood up and fought for me when some naughty guy insulted me in another room. What they did, I must confess, I wasn’t expecting it at all. God is awesome, He puts or brings people into your life for a purpose and these amazing people are wonderful. I will never forget them. I do love you all now and to the end of life.
