Hello there, how are you doing?
Today we are doing another review on another movie, it is called THIS LADY CALLED LIFE, a new Nigerian film on Netflix. It is the subject of another review. This film is both entertaining and educational. It has numerous lessons that you may take home with you. It is about a lady who is played by the lovely and talented BISOLA AIYEOLA and AIYETIDE was the role she portrayed. I really like how she acted her role. She acts as though it’s a genuine situation. She did a fantastic job with her role. I didn’t spot any mistakes, to be honest. Her character AIYETDE is about a mother who went to great lengths to protect her son and herself. She is a self-employed Internet cook who prepares meals and delivers them herself. Because there is no one to look after her son, she sometimes carries him with her. For example, in the beginning of the film, we see how her neighbor did not wait a second and there was this heavy voice, and she had no choice but to take her son with her to deliver food and also for the interview she had. Every mother would do the same for her children. Her portrayal of her mother, played by TINA, is particularly moving. I thought that TINA MBA was her stepmother at first, until I realized what was going on later in the film, which was terrible. I was sorry for her which is AIYETIDE. AIYETIDE is a powerful woman and I saw that she had frequent nightmares of being unable to speak, particularly in a crowded environment. Her mother treats her as an outcast because of her birth circumstances; she gave birth outside of marriage and saw AIYETIDE as a stumbling block for her to miss out on all of life’s nice things. Her mother abused her, yet every time she becomes ill, AIYETIDE rushes to make sure she is okay. She still couldn’t take seeing anything awful near her mother, which is incredible. That is a lesson I have learned as well. We shouldn’t have to pay for bad behavior. Though AIYETIDE would say things like, “Oh, it’s mum, I shouldn’t care,” her heart would not allow her to do so. Now, DADDY, played by WALE OJO, deserves special mention for his performance in this film. I assumed he was her real father and her mother was a stepmother whom he married when AIYETIDE’s mother died, but that wasn’t the case; DADDY adopted her mother and herself as his own family. He lavished her with love and care, treating her as if she were his own kid. Many males are unable to cope, and will malign or attempt to sleep with the daughter. I adored his performance; he was mature and perceptive. He loved AIYETIDE in the same way he loved his real daughter, TOKE, played by the lovely JEMIMA OSUNDE (I adore her a lot). He was a guardian, a supporter, and also there for his family. TOKE was wonderful. As a married, pregnant woman; her role was beautiful too and she played it wonderfully well. I was hoping to see her talk to her mother about loving AIYETIDE and bringing her closer to herself. She was preserved in a respectable manner. Yes, she gave it her all. I believe she was afraid for her mother. She adored her family and was always willing to lend a helping hand. The role of OBINNA is played by EFA IWARA, a budding photographer who is one of Nollywood’s most outstanding actors. His character was really amusing; I liked how he decided to assist AIYETIDE without expecting anything in return. He performed a great job with the igbo aspect of his character, which I didn’t expect. I bow to him. He was completely devoted to AIYETIDE and her son, and he assisted her in entering the competition. He instilled in her the self-assurance she lacked. OBINNA did a fantastic job in this capacity. I admire that part of him because its not all guys that will welcome a lady and her child with all of their hearts. He was always there to support her, especially when AIYETIDE’S mother would insult and humiliate him, as well as AIYETIDE and the son. He saw something in her that most people couldn’t see. I like his character from the beginning to the conclusion, even down to his marriage; love is sweet, and I adored it. I’m delighted AIYETIDE was able to overcome her nervousness and remain mute in front of her mother; I was looking forward to that portion. Her mother needed to comprehend what was going on and to hear that hard discourse again. After everything, I’m glad AIYETIDE and her mother reconciled. Her mother finally recognized what had happened, and despite the fact that it was late, it was a joyful ending. Every member of the cast did an excellent job, and each role was well-played. Although I wished AIYETIDE had won the competition, one of the judges still favored AIYETIDE. Her self-assurance returned, and everything was back to normal. This is a fantastic film. One thing I learned from this film is that you must have faith in yourself. Sometimes all we have to do is stand up and face our worries. The image was crystal clear.
I offer a big thumbs up to the writer, TOLUWANI OBAYAN, who wrote everything down to the last detail. I hope that one day we will be able to write a film like this together. The author espoused wonderful values that have an impact on everyone’s lives. God bless the filmmaker, KAYODE KASUM; the film was well-directed. I adore how each member of the cast performed their part. It was excellent. Kudos to the producer, ABISOLA YUSSUF. This is an incredible film, and I hope it wins an award. God bless everyone and I look forward to seeing more beautiful and interesting films in the future. Please, go to Netflix and watch. It is worth your time.
