LIVING IN NIGERIA- OKOI JOSEPH ODEN

Hello everyone, welcome to my new segment on WORDS FROM NANCY’S BLOG. I am excited to start this new segment. This segment is called LIVING IN NIGERIA. We will be interviewing people who live in Nigeria, they will tell us the suitation of the economy, the government  and changes to be made. This segment focuses more on Nigeria and to kick off this new segment, we will be talking to OKOI JOSEPH ODEN who currently lives in Nigeria. So guys, let the discussion begin:

QUESTION 1: What is your name and what you do for a living?

ANS: My name is Okoi Joseph Oden, I am a Nigerian living in Lagos state precisely and I am a Network engineer.

QUESTION 2:  How would u describe living in Nigeria like?

ANS: Living in nigeria is on the average quite expensive. Minimum wage in Nigeria is about 30,000 which is far below the standard of living.

QUESTION 3: Would you say that the government needs to do more to help the society?

ANS: The govt needs to invest more in economic growth.

QUESTION 4: There are a lot of killings, kidnapping and more going on in the society, what will you advise the government to do?

ANS: The government needs to concern it’s self with things that concern that concern the safety of it’s people like increase security and look for ways to cub insecurity

QUESTION 5. The basics amenities like water, lights, good roads, and much are not in place for the citizens, what do you feel the government should do to provide amenities?

ANS: Allocate more budgets to the development of infrastructure and amenities, the light is not available. most homes and companies run generator for hours to get electricity. the people in the village don’t see light for two to three days straight.

QUESTION 6: Do you see Nigeria as a save country for everyone now especially people coming from abroad?

ANS: YES its safe.

QUESTION 7: Elections are coming soon, with the candidates on ground, how should Nigerians vote for the right person?

ANS: Well as the election is approaching, the people would decide who is going to be their next president by coming out to vote without any fear of attack.

QUESTION 8: How is the telecommunication working out in Nigeria?

ANS: The telecommuncation is the same thing whereby it is not guaranteed , they don’t provide the service we are paying for. for an example, 1gb is now 1000 Naira and doesn’t late for one full month, it is only for two weeks. they don’t have the quality service the masses are looking for. They provide wifi, but you have to buy it separately. The charges are really high. The DSTV is now very expensive to buy. Things are really on the high amount.

QUESTION 9. What will you advise the government to make Nigeria a better country?

ANS: I will advise the government to invest in other areas like agriculture, technology, and the youths.

QUESTION 10: Any last words before you go?

ANS: Nigeria will be a better country with better leaders by the grace of God, Amen.

 

There you have it, the feelings of a Nigerian living in Nigeria. What is the country turning into? Will change come to the country or not?
