ARE YOU READY?

You know that before you go to a program, concert, church service, school, or any kind of occasion, you must prepare.

A lot of people prepare ahead of time so as to get there on time, or so they won’t forget what they need to carry along to the venue. They lay out their dress, polish their shoes, prepare their makeup, have their accessories ready to wear—everything is set and ready to go. Most people get to the venue even before the scheduled time. They are always ready, always on time. It’s a habit for them to be prepared at the right moment. They can’t be late. They even wake up almost six hours before the event, because punctuality is their second name.

Everyone knows such people, and they can’t stand being late. Even when it comes to their office, work, or business dealings, they don’t slack. They are the first to get to the office, they do their job on time, putting in all the effort they can to make the job a success. They are always ready. They are polite, ready for action.

Most people admire them for their punctuality and dedication to keeping time, although some don’t like them at all. These critics may feel that such people are overdoing things, or seeking recognition they don’t deserve.

So, I ask: Are you ready?

When it comes to the things of God, you drag your feet. You don’t care if the service has started; you get to church late. You don’t care about the things of God as you should. You have made God’s work a second option, placing it at the bottom of your list. You can wake up early and prepare for your work, business, or family, yet fail to do the same for Christ. It’s when they are sharing the grace that you are entering the church, and you claim you attended service. How does that sound to you? Is that the right thing to do as a Christian?

How can you be ready when you have abandoned God’s work? You watch service online, but you sleep off or get distracted, forgetting that you are even participating. You have left what is most important—the love of God.

How ready are you now? Wake up from your slumber, arise, and do the right thing. As you work hard to excel in your business, marriage, or any other endeavor, so should you strive to make your Christian life flourish. Get close to God. Be ready. Be prepared for the work He has enabled you to do for Him. He loves you and wants what’s best for you, as well as others out there who don’t even know Him.

Arise and let them see you as an example that points them to Jesus. Show them Life. Show them Heaven.

Heaven is yours as you keep your faith and eyes upon your Lord and Saviour Jesus, obeying Him in His love because He first loved you.

God loves you.

Stay blessed.
