DEEP WATERS

You’ve been carrying so much in your heart for so long. You’ve refused to forgive and let go. Your heart has shut itself off from love and from letting others in. Instead, you’ve chosen to remain isolated rather than risk being hurt again.

I understand—it’s not easy. You were mistreated by the very people you loved and trusted. They did things to you that left deep scars, things you can’t even talk about. You were hurt, broken, and abused.

Now, you ask yourself: How can I open my heart to love again? Why should I? After all, you were good, kind, and open. You gave your all, yet they crushed your kindness, your integrity, your value. They broke you down, and now forgiving and letting go feels impossible.

But holding on to that pain for so long has changed you. You’ve built walls around your heart, blocking everyone out. At work, you’re called names because people don’t see the real you—the good, kind person you truly are. When help is offered, you reject it, keeping a straight face and pushing people away. You’ve forgotten what friendship feels like.

Everyone is afraid to get close to you now because they don’t know how you’ll react. You’ve become distant, isolating yourself so completely that no one can reach your heart.

But why?

Can we forgive and let the past stay in the past? Yes, the pain runs deep, and what they did to you was hard, unfair, and cruel. But your heart is not meant to stay locked away. It was created for love, for connection, for healing.

Letting go won’t erase what happened, but it will free you from its grip. Only by forgiving and opening your heart can you truly heal. It’s not easy, but it’s possible.

Whatever it takes—therapy, prayer, fasting, immersing yourself in God’s Word—be open to it. Allow God into those deep waters of your heart. Let Him bring healing, peace, and joy back to your life.

Be cautious about who you trust, yes. But as you let God in, He will surround you with the right people—those who will love, respect, and value you.

Your heart is good. Let it love again.

God bless you as you choose to release your heart and embrace healing.
