After Maryjane had written the letter, she folded it and kept in her church bag and went to bed and slept peacefully. The following Sunday, she decided to put the letter in the offering basket and prayed that God will receive her letter and grant her Christmas wish.
Days and days went by and yet, it looked like her Christmas wish will never happen as she had wished. She would sit at her window each day to see if her parents will come home with her gift. Each time her parents returned home, they came home empty-handed and Maryjane will tear up and then run to her room to cry. This continued and it got so bad that as she little as she was, she refused to eat. Her parents felt bad but they really couldn’t do anything to purchase her wish. It really became an issue. Her parents got so unhappy, they thought of what to do to come with a way to get their little daughter the gift she wanted.
It was now seven more days until Christmas and it still seemed impossible for them to get this big gift. Maryjane got worried and sadder each time. She would go on her knees morning and night praying to God for a miracle. Her faith was still there but she seemed to be losing it as time went by. But she kept on praying and decided to write another letter to God,
Dear God in heaven,
How are the heavens and the angels? I still hope it’s beautiful and golden as it’s always is. Well, I am yet to see your miracle in my life; it’s almost Christmas and I know my parents can’t get me my gift but I still believe you can. My pastor says you can do all things. What’s delaying my gift? Did I offend you? Is it because I refused to play nice with Ruth my friend? Well, that was because she said I was not as beautiful like my cousin, Samantha! Why would she say that to me? Every day, my mum tell me that I am beautiful, and I believe her. Please God, can you forgive me? I will play nice with Ruth. I forgive her. I really want my Christmas gift. I believe you will answer me soon. Ok, GOD. Bye
Your little daughter,
Maryjane (M.J)
Maryjane put her letter in the offering basket at the mid-week service. She prayed and believed her gift will surely come soon. Finally Christmas Day came, everyone in the neighborhood were opening presents, homes were full of joy, and plenty to eat and drink. Alas, Maryjane was sad, even though her parents had prepared delicious food and drinks. She wasn’t happy. Her parents begged her to be happy and promised to get her the gift next year for Christmas. Maryjane cried and cried, she couldn’t hold her feelings. Christmas in the house turned to a time of sadness, it was really bad. At evening time, almost midnight, as the family were going to bed, someone knocked at the door of their house, and Maryjane’s father went to check. He thought “it’s so late, who could that be at this time of the night?” He opened the door and found out it was their pastor from church. He had to come so late because he had a lot of guests at home and couldn’t leave his house until they all left. He came into the house and apologized for stopping by so late. The pastor sat down and asked about Maryjane, her parents called for her to come downstairs to meet the pastor. Maryjane was also surprised seeing the pastor in their house so late in the night. She greeted him and the pastor gave her a big hug and looked at her and said “You are such a precious child, not just to your parents but to God and the entire society”. The pastor had seen her letter to God and read it, he also prayed to God to answer Maryjane’s prayer. The pastor then bought out the biggest gift Maryjane has never seen before in her life. She was extra happy and she was full of laughter, jumping up and down and round the house. Her parents thanked the pastor and he left back home. Maryjane opened her gift and inside was something she never expected. Finally, her big Christmas gift came to her on Christmas Day.
Dear GOD,
You truly received my Christmas letter! I had faith that you will read my letter and you did and gave me my gift through my pastor and my parents because my dad opened the door so late at night. He was a little afraid but he opened it and then my pastor came in and gave me my gift. I thank you so much. You are such a good God and I love you. I will keep my promise as I wrote in my first letter. Greet the heavens and the angels for me. Thank you once more. Bye.
Your little daughter,
Maryjane (M.J)
Wow, wow, wow! I am so excited about this story, CHRISTMAS LETTER. Though I personally wrote it, I learnt a lot from it. No matter what you are looking for, remember God can still do it. It is ten more days to the end of the year and four more days to Christmas. Guess what, it can still happen, God can do the impossible, an eleventh hour miracle. Please believe and have faith no matter how little just as our little Maryjane. I hope you all love my story because I am in love with it. God bless you and as we write our Christmas letter to God, He shall answer us.
