REVIEW ON THE MOVIE- RATTLE SNAKE-THE AHANNA STORY

What’s up guys, how are you all doing. You are all welcome to another review on a movie. Today we are reviewing a movie called AHANNA. Everyone has heard about this movie, it’s on Netflix and a lot of us has seen it. This movie is produced by one of the most respected Nollywood actor, Rasmey Nouah, he is also director of the movie and the Story by is by Nicole Asinugo

As you already know, he produced the re-make of the movie, LIVING IN BONGAGE, the very first movie in Nollywood ever, an Igbo movie and it won award round the world. That was an interesting movie.

So AHANNA is a movie originally produced by AMAKA IGWE, in respect of her, I know for a fact that whenever she is in heaven, she must be extremely proud of what Rasmey Nouah has done. He is very good in the way he has re-produced the movie. I am so happy with the idea of him bringing back these old movies. Like, a lot of us has forgotten these old movies. So, I wonder how and why it just popped up in his head to bring it back, its what we call talent, and I am happy to see history brought back. Firstly, the character, AHANNA, of course the main actor played by STAN NZE. He did so well. His charater is powerful. I love how he bought his A-game to this movie. He being the main actor is amazing. Growing and seeing someone getting burnt made him stronger, he understood the meaning of life. I felt bad that his dad died, and he had to stay back in the village and complete his education while his mum went back to the city leaving him behind, like how can a mother do that and no one cautioned her or argued with her about the decision, it didn’t make sense. After Ahanna’s education, no job, wasting away in the village, his mother didn’t bother to check in on him all these years, it was bad. Finally, Ahanna got the address of the mother from his grandmother, he traveled to the city and got into one of these one chance bus and got attacked by armed robber. Everything was taken away from him and just had to look for how to money to get to the house of his mum, well, we see how he found someone who happened to BALA played by the handsome, EFA IWARA, to help him get home, by helping him get people buy his book which was a little bit different but good. Surprisingly, Ahanna got to the house, saw all the pictures of his mum, uncle and siblings. Did you guys see the house, what a beautiful, luxurious house and he is in the village suffering. I couldn’t believe it, what kind of mother does that to her child? It was disappointing. It is unbelievable. No mother should behave like that. Feeling disappointed, Ahanna left and went to see his dear friend, NZE played by BUCCI FRANKLIN, I love his charater, he acted it so well, his role is just great, he put in a lot of work and it came out so good, he deserves an award, though I am not a fan of drugs and staeling and all, but he did so great and his little sister, AMARA played by the beautiful, OSAS IGHODARO, they were all happy to see each other after a long time, the reunion was good and then Amara talked about the issue Nze had with this drug dealer, SMOKE, Nze is owing him a lot of money and will be killed if the money is not paid. Ahanna came up with an idea to rob his uncle and mother, the operation went smoothly but of course, all mothers know her children. Ahanna’s mum shouted his name and he decided to reveal himself, I mean Ahanna is hurting, seeing how his mum left him in the village to suffer and she was enjoying in the city, also his siblings are schooling abroad, he confronted his mum and uncle and poured out his pain, but things went down and awfully wrong and both mum and uncle died, painful though.  Ahanna was hurting and in serious pain, why did Amara and him have sex? I don’t think it was necessary, its good she came to comfort him but having sex, it’s a no for me.

Moving on, Ahanna left Nze’s house to go figure out his life and what he wanted to do, he went to his father’s bakery, remembered about his father and fun memories they had. He stayed in the bakery and his grandmother appeared to him to move on, but please did his grandma die, because we didn’t see her again, it’s questionable, right? So he braved up and went back to Nze’s house and told Nze and Amara his plan on how to make a lot of money, though I am not a fan of stealing but it was good. Then Ahanna bought in other people like SANGO played by EMAKA NWAGBARAOCHA, the internet guru, I love his charater. It was nice, small but mighty and intelligent. He also met his old classmate from school, EGBE played by ODERA ADIMORAH, an ex-military member, he joined the group and BALA played by EFA IWARA, I like the name they called themselves, THE ARMADAS. Looking at this movie, there were lot of emotions, mixed-feelings, fights and revenge and even more. This movie is fully packed up. I am fully in love with all the characters but mostly NZE. He did absolutely well, like he put all his energy into his charater, the smoking, the drugs, the arguments and the actions he put in, it was mind blowing. Sitting down and watching this movie from the beginning to the end, I learnt a lot. There is love and betrayal. My offs about this movie are, I really did not like the fact that Ahanna left or forgot his friends when they all went to prison, it was sad and not good. Why would you do that. Secondly, I felt sad about the death of SANGO, he  was a sweet guy and smart. I felt bad about that. Also, how come Ahanna fell in love with ADAUGO played by ELMA MBADIWE, how did that happen and how come they both planned together to steal the Benin statue? I couldn’t believe that, I never saw that coming. It was just painful too when Amara told Ahanna about her love for him and he just kept quiet, I thought, he was also in love with her. I love how they traveled out and had real fun. I also wish Nze had listened to Ahanna to lay low for a while but instead they planned a birthday party for Sango which wasn’t bad but it could have been a very low key one and Ali Mahmood played NORBERT YOUNG and SMOKE played by RICHARD BRUTUS won’t have fished them out and all the killings and betrayls won’t have happened. Amara was really hurt and I felt bad for her, given birth to twins and her brother in jail, her true love left her and married another girl, she had to go to Ali Mahmood for revenge. The ending part was just painful. Nze just allowed the police to kill him but he was still strong, Amara killed Adaugo and Ahanna’s son watched his mum died. This is a great movie, it is over different from the first AHANNA movie. Rasmey Nouah did well. All the cast did absolutely well, it was good seeing OMOTAOLA JALADE EKEINDE, GLORIA YOUNG, CHIWETALU AGU, EJIKE ASIEGBU, CHINEYERE WILFRED, CASSANDRA ODITA, AYO MAKUN, their role were brief but good, also IKE played by TOBI BAKRE, I was happy to each one of them, the crew too was amazing. I just know that I felt sad watching but above all, great job in this movie. I cant wait to see new ones to come. Please, everyone go and watch RATTLE SNAKE- THE AHANNA’S STORY. Thank you.
