JULIUS, THE MECHANIC

CHAPTER 1

MADAM PATIENCE: Julius, why are you coming this late? I called you since 9 a.m. Why are you like this? I am late for an appointment, an appointment that is going to start by 11:30 a.m. What is wrong with you? Are you okay at all? What is your problem?!

JULIUS: Madam, I honestly didn’t mean to be late. I have been fixing other people’s cars. I will fix your car right now. Don’t be offended, please.

MADAM: You are very late, and you still have the guts to talk and say rubbish. Just look at you. Did you even shower before coming to my expensive house? How come the security guards at the gate, opened the gate for you? Just look at how you look, poor man. If not for God in me, you would never touch my car.

JULIUS: (silent in humility)

MADAM PATIENCE: Just look at him, ugly human being. You are someone’s husband. Hmm, I laugh in Chinese. Anyway, this is the car. I don’t have a clue what could be wrong. Make sure you check it properly to know the problem and fix it very well. If I find out that the car is still faulty, I will lock you up forever. This is a very expensive car. Handle it with care.

JULIUS: Yes, Madam Patience.

CHAPTER 2

Julius stands still. He doesn’t say a word. Madam Patience throws the car keys at his face. They hit him hard, and she doesn’t even apologize.

She eventually leaves the compound with another car that she has. Julius picks up the car keys and repairs the car, and it is now in good shape.

The following day, Madam Patience pays him the money, but it is half payment. He tries to meet her to demand his balance, to no avail. Julius, after two weeks of trying to get through to her, decides to let her be.

CHAPTER 3

Some of us are just like Madam Patience. We take some of the people who work for us for granted. We underpay them, ignore them, and insult them with words that are so painful. Words that you yourself can never accept or take.

We refuse to show appreciation when it is needed. We forget to say thank you. We forget that these people are also human beings. We look down on them because they do the dirty jobs, and we, with our beautiful clothes and painted nails, nice suits, and nice cars, make them look like church rats.

Why do we behave like this?
What have they done that you cannot appreciate their service?

In this article today, see Julius as God, our Father in Heaven. God cares for us so much. He is our ‘mechanic’ who fixes us up every time we break down, every time we fall apart. He makes sure that our bones are put back together when we encounter an accident.

God comes through for us no matter the time, be it midnight, morning time, afternoon time, or evening time. He will show up. But some of us don’t appreciate Him at all.

We have insulted Him because we consider Him late; just like Julius. We don’t care. We make it feel like it’s our right. Why should God answer us at every time we so choose? Who are we to do this to God?

We don’t have a right to order Him around. He is not our domestic staff to push around to do our bidding.

We have insulted our mechanic. We have not loved Him the way that we should. We have made a mockery of the mechanic because He looks dirty. Can’t you see that He is fixing your car so that when you drive, you don’t get into an accident on the road?

Thank God today and forevermore for being able to protect us from evil. We need to be more patient with God. His time is not according to your own time. So, stop disrespecting God.

Whenever God chooses to come and fix your life, accept it that way because He knows what is best for you.

God is not wicked; God is a good God.

CHAPTER 4 (FINALE)

Appreciate God always, even if you think that He is taking too long to answer you and your time is going.
